Soy Sauce Pound Cake
The aroma of soy sauce adds richness to your usual pound cake. The flavor enriches more on the day after you bake. Enjoy this cake with “matcha” (green tea).
PREPARATION
- Place parchment paper on a baking pan. Pre-heat an oven to 180°C.
- Chop walnuts coarsely, and put rains in lukewarm water to soften. Dry extra water on raisins. Place salted butter in room temperature, and beat to creamy texture. Add sugar and mix well.
- Beat room-temperature eggs, and add to STEP2 little by little, mixing well each time you pour in. If separation seems to happen, add 1-2 tablespoon(s) of A in STEP1 to the batter, and start pouring the eggs again.
- Add the remaining A from STEP1 to STEP3. Using a rubber spatula, mix the batter lightly. Pour "REGULAR SOY SAUCE" while powdery part sill remains, and mix lightly. Fold walnuts and raisins in STEP2 into the batter.
- Pour STEP4 in the baking pan prepared in STEP1. Flatten the surface, make a ditch at the center, and bake in the oven for 45 minutes (cover the top with aluminum foil if the surface seems to burn).
